Character factoids, quirks, etc
Because I personally love finding out more about characters, I decided to make this. xP Basically, share any tidbit of information on your pirate101 characters you wish! SPAM ABOUT YOUR BABIES, little factoids you may not be able to share quite as much in every fic or bio, whatever you want.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Dangler's real name is Vanessa Redspear, and she's from Wizard City (which explains her ability to 'brand', those of you who have read Common Motives). She doesn't know this and neither do any of the other characters, so it won't ever be revealed/found out in the story.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Sydney is, although she does not show it, extremely sensitive about her weight.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Nimble Jewel Zabra, the swashbuckler in Sydney's crew in "Common Motives", has asthma.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
((XD Hannah you already knew this so feel free to ignore me))
Ulysses is in fact a very powerful demigod--his mother is Nyx, the Primordial of Night--however, as he had killed his father, the only one who knew of this, he never found out about it. He only knows that for some reason, he has greater powers at night.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Ulysses is extremely prone to the effects of blood loss, due to that a few years ago before events in "Valencian Legend", he had been captured and tortured by his enemy Atticus Mercilus. He endured losing blood for 4 consecutive hours before barely escaping with his life. This greatly heightened his sensitivity to losing blood and became his sole greatest physical flaw.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
I really enjoyed reading your factoids guys, thanks for using this and sharing! ^^ that does make sense on the branding thing, I was curious about that! and hahah aw poor Sydney, don't listen to unrealistic body images!
I remember that oneshot, Ulysses, it's still an interesting tidbit of information though so I don't mind seeing it again one little bit. :3 And ooh man, yeesh poor Seppy that sounds horrible. I don't blame him for reacting that way to blood loss in the future. *cringe* I don't like losing a lot of blood either. That def would do a number on you, so it makes perfect sense to me!

oh nooo now I'm posting some. I realize I did not mention this beforehand, so I apologize! If you want, you guys can absolutely post multiple ones in one post. Or do it as you have been, however you're more comfortable sharing them.
- Hannah's father wound up becoming friends with Marleybone's own Admiral Nelson back in their youths thanks to Valencia once being a proud, golden hub of trade and their lives as soldiers, so Hannah knew of him as a little girl and met him a few times. She sees him almost as a distant Uncle figure with how fondly her father talked about him, matched with her own experiences with the dog during the Polarian war, as Valencia and Marleybone were the two powers that won it for the spiral. While she, like any Valencian, eventually fell under the Armada's command when King Casimir handed the reins to Kane, Hannah enjoyed working alongside Marleyboneans greatly and was perfectly willing to take orders from Nelson and their officers as well.
- She witnessed the event that mangled Nelson's one arm and forced him to get an amputation. Since she was only 17 then and that whole mess was her first, explosive experience with war, it had a powerful impact on her. Hannah greatly fears amputation and losing her limbs.
(I know they did it because the real admiral Nelson is based off of lost one of his arms, but I'm just going to headcanon it happened during the Polarian war unless they ever actually mention when).
- While she like any soldier had a lot of close calls in the great war, there was one instance in particular Hannah was almost killed by a Polarian ambush. Her life was saved by a clockwork officer who even under programming made sure she was given medical attention, which she would have died without, so Hannah has a very hard time with killing clockwork officers and elites. Bashing them up, sure, but fatal damage....she still has a hard time with, since she owes one of their kind her very life. Elites are....Hannah has this unusual opinion that the elite have 'souls' of some kind the lesser pawns don't, so she looks at them almost like other truly living beings. (You can blame blind mew and some of his vague, hinty answers about things xP.)
- I'm not sure if I will actually use this because A.)It's a weird theory I developed looking at a picture of Kane while attempting to doodle him and B.) It might verge on uhhh sueish for Hannah to know it, if it's true but ONLY the toymaker knows it.
SO ONLY IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS AND OTHER PEOPLE IN THE GAME BEYOND KANE'S CREATOR KNOW ABOUT IT, will I consider traveling this route.
So, lol, this theory is probably 100% wrong, but idk for whatever reason my brain decided it would be interesting if that one area on Kane is actually some kind of weakness for him. That little gear on his chest that would be where his heart was with tassles hanging out of it. It's probably just decoration, but my brain likes to imagine it as an actual weakness, actually connected to something like his cogheart because he's the first or something- and soldiers like Hannah and the other living Valencians who fought in the war being told about it, warned about its potential danger to the commander and initially told only so that if it ever came down to it, they should defend that part of him from enemies because it was susceptible if anybody got that close and had a chance to lash out.
lol but with her paranoia, she wouldn't really say much about it...which I'm sure her friends would be pissed off about later if it ever came up when she's drunk or whatever. For the most part she'd keep it to herself, just like the other 'good soldiers' do, with mixed feelings on all of it.
- Hannah gets anxious traveling to places she has no experience with. Unlike her parents, she prefers being around kingdoms and colonies she's more familiar with. A favorite ACTUAL uncle of hers was killed by some horrible monster while exploring an unfamiliar skyway or place when she was a little girl, and her parents didn't believe in sugarcoating the truth once a crewmate of his who escaped told them, so...hahah that miiiiiggght have something to do with it.
- Though it's not usually pictured as I suck at drawing scars and don't want to force people I commission to run themselves ragged trying to do it, Hannah has a very noticeable scar on one side of her face. She has a lot of scars from the polarian war and just being a buccaneer, but most are hidden underneath her clothing. This one however is on her face, right there, and fairly long. It extends from just underneath her bangs trailing to just shy of her chin. Some people think it actually looks like something if they look long enough, though Hannah is insecure and easily agitated by discussions about this one- but she won't really talk about it either, where she doesn't mind talking about her others. As she often says scars tell stories and are memories of great battles, it's generally assumed that the battle she got that scar from didn't go as well as the others, and so she hates reflecting upon it for that reason.
- Somewhere far down the bloodlines, one side of Hannah's family might have come to Valencia from Dragonspyre.
- Hannah probably does have war flashbacks and crap.
lol I'll stop there, GOTTA GET IN A FEW BEFORE VACATION.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
If you Common Motives readers haven't already guessed, Samantha Hawkins has severe ADHD. She deals with it by forcing herself to perform extremely physically challenging tasks. Also, as you may or may not know, those with ADHD can often focus intensely for short periods of time, allowing her to make spontaneous decisions at lightning speed.

Kestrel
- Desmodus genes are extremely dominant, which is why Kes is considered to be one instead of a hybrid.
- Kestrel’s mother, Shay Flint, was the granddaughter of notorious pirate Red Bess. Her father, Falken Orne, was a Darkmoor merchant who travelled the Spiral. They perished in Perdition’s Tempest when Kes was just an infant, and neither of them possessed even a trace of the voodoo that Kes has proven so adept at.
- Kes feels more comfortable with rodents instead of other species. She wears the rat skull since Desmodus are rarely seen in the Spiral, not wanting to draw attention. She will eventually forgo it after it is cracked during an incident.
- Kes is particularly strong with death-related voodoo, bringing her closer to that unspeakable edge of magic.
Tomas
- Tomas was raised primarily by a Monquistan guardsman, from whom he received his mace.
- Fascinated due to the rarity in Monquista, Tomas compares blonde hair to the clouds in his homeland.
- After becoming involved in the mystery of the clockwork birds, Tomas teaches himself how to tinker with the likes of gears and such. He progresses to the point of being able to reprogram one of the birds to be a little messenger, but is unlikely to achieve any level of skill near being able to fuss with the insides of an Armada clockwork.
- Tomas will face a strong moral conflict once he translates the message inscribed on the clockwork bird gears.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
I just thought that "He can't be all perfect, naw or else he'd be a sue character and sues are annoying." So yeah, had to give him at least one physical flaw.
Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Sydney has enormous, muscular quadriceps, making her legs far superior in strength compared to her upper body.
Dangler is ambidextrous.
The most push-ups ever done by Samantha at one time is 103.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
There's actually two Armada troopers named Servus Decimus-one of them is the clockwork sniper, while the other one is a cyborg who had been betrayed by his crew and left to die on the Isle of Doom (with his nearly all of his limbs chopped off, except his left arm, and right eye gouged out.). The second Decimus, whose full name is actually Servus Decimus Secondus, is one of the Armada spies Ulysses had planted in Skull Island.
Ulysses' left Hidden Blade's activation mechanism is actually connected to that mechanical limb itself-basically, that Blade is part of his hand.
Sentus Optimus' original name in my story "Valencian Legend" was going to be Custos Optimus, before of course I decided to change it to make him unique.
Ulysses is actually strong enough to wield Rooke's axe.
Part of Ulysses' story was actually inspired by the game "Assassin's Creed", specifically, "Assassin's Creed II"
Octavian could jump as far as 10 meters, compared to the Dragoons and other Royal Guards; Dragoons could not jump at all, while other Royal Guards could only go 5 at max.
Albinus actually refers to Ulysses as "pater" when out of public eye, which means "father" in Latin, and Servus Decimus "frater"(Latin: Brother)
Cristobal Auditore de la Faiz is descended from a man named Giovanni Auditore de la Faiz (reference to Assassin's Creed II)
((And holy cow, Sam is strong O.O the most I've done is only like 7... yeah I'm a weak little swashie..))

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Cristobal Auditore de la Faiz, Ulysses' mentor, actually had a chance to become the Grandmaster Assassin. But he chose to not, leaving the position to Ulysses while he retires to being the Weapons Specialist and the Advisor to Ulysses.
-Cristobal is a musician who plays the flute, as well as a marksman, wielding a sparquebus in battle that possessed multiple upgrades, such as a bayonet, high def. scope.
-If needed, he can also pull out his drafting compass and use it as a weapon, like the Engineer which he is based on from "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood"

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
*falls back into this spam thread too*
Sorry I didn't get a post up tonight Ulysses. D; It's in the works though, safe and sound on my word document!
-----
- Hannah's mother is a Valencian opera singer and performer, though she's not the top of the chain there or usually ever the leading lady. Here or there she might get a higher role in performances, but for the most part her roles are more minor . Her mom is a buccaneer and where she gets her own skillsets from, but preferred this sort of life to a rough and tumble one.
- Hannah's father was a swashbuckler who served as part of the unicorn monarchy's guard. Again, he did not assume the highest post and was more of an average soldier, but he did his job well. He was often the one that sparred with Hannah when she was younger, as she was more of a daddy's girl and wanted to be just like him when she grew up.
It's safe to say she is fairly close to her father, and with what happened to him during her late teen/early adult years...obsessive about 'making things right', desperate to try and give at least her parents as much of their normal life back as she can. What happened makes her hate pirates.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
That is completely okay, Hannah I know that you have it safe and sound and is working on it, don't worry I trust ya! And I hope you feel better soon, you don't deserve all these crap this year handed to you.
--------------------------
-Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, father of Ulysses, is not an Assassin, but he is good friends with Cristobal Auditore, which is a reason why Ulysses was able to receive Assassin training even though he was not born into the Assassin Order or chosen by an Assassin master.
-Ulysses' name in Latin meant "Despicable One", or "One Deserving Hate"
-Ulysses shares his Aerial Kill with the Duelist from Assassin's Creed.
-Ulysses actually have a older brother--Ezio--but he died in the battle where Atticus Mercilus opened the gates of the Assassin Stronghold to the Templars.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
Yay more facts!
I love posting these ^^
- Samantha would be considered "flawlessly beautiful" by many of the opposite gender, but she herself does not particularly care much about her own looks.
- Each of the CM characters is, in some way, unhappy with themselves and envies a trait possessed by another character.
- Sydney's greatest fear is being alone.

Re: Character factoids, quirks, etc
I have returned as well
-Ulysses is technically the "big daddy" of the Royal Guard clockworks, since he created their blueprints and made the first Royal Guard Quintia Presidos.
-Ulysses can mad dash 300 meters without stopping, can free run across rooftops at breakneck speed, and swim for least 3 miles on full stamina. Yes he has a lot more energy than regular swashbucklers, as well as much more strength since he could use buccaneer weapons in combat without too much trouble: he could also throw two-handed swords and battleaxes right into enemy skulls to perform one hit kills. The only weapons that he seems to really suck at using is long range firearms such as crossbows and rifles (with a pistol or a Hidden Gun he has no trouble, however).
-Ulysses' personal fear is losing what value he holds for the Armada.
