Re: World-Valencia
"As an Assassin, we seek to use surprise as our main weapon: not very many can stand a chance against us once we have them at the mercy of our blade, if they don't know we would strike."The engineer presses a hidden button, causing the axe to fold back into a rod.
He offered it to her, "This, as well as the concealed blades are now yours."

Re: World-Valencia
"Thank you, Grandmaster..." Sydney said, taking the expertly engineered weapons. "Although, I have to say...stealth is not something I have much experience with at all."
Re: World-Valencia
"That would be entirely alright: many of us usually just require enough to get targets within weapon range... Or we are strong enough to plow down everything that stands between us and the target."The old Assassin replied, "which brings me to the next few projects."
He rummaged around the pile a few more times, coming up with what looked like a sword with a broken blade, a smooth oval shaped disk the size of a small spider, and a contraption that looked like a jumble of razor wires.
Setting aside the contraption and disk, Cristobal flicked the sword in his grip.
SHINK
A blade extended from the "broken" part, which was actually a base for the main part of the weapon. That was not the only part: barely noticable green lines coated the edge of the weapon.
Poisoned.
"Once a target is cut, the poison slowly enters their body, dissolving it from the insde.... A fairly gruesome way to die. "

Re: World-Valencia
"They disintegrate." She summed up the engineer's sentence with two words, smiling wickedly at the thought of those who opposed the Armada getting the painful demise that they deserved
Re: World-Valencia
"Indeed."Cristobal smiled, almost devilishly like how Ulysses had on several occasions, "this is yours as well."He retracted the poisoned blade, placing it on the table, then picking up the oval disk and razor wire contraption.
"Now these would need volunteers to show you how it works... Which I have prepared beforehand."
The old Assassin lead them into the adjoining chamber, where he had set up a table with a man strapped down on it.
"Hello Juan,"Cristobal drew a scalpel from the sachel by his side, "are you ready to talk now?"
Juan, the captured Templar, snarled back, "Never."
The Assassin chuckled, "Figured... Then you've lost your value... Prepare to die."
He approached and made a careful incision on his neck, then placed the oval disk down on the table and stepped back. The engineer put his scalpel away, pulling a remote from satchel.
Click.
The disk suddenly sprouted legs, making it resemble a mechanical cockroach... But that wasn't all of it: the legs were razor sharp blades.
Juan's eyes widened as he realize what was in store, though there was nothing he could do as the insect-like thing climbed into the cut...

Re: World-Valencia
The captive man could do nothing to hold back his terrified screams as the metal insect worked around underneath the top layer of his skin, for it seemed much too horrific to be true.
"Why, this is a rather efficient form of punishment, wouldn't you say? I would be able to put something like this to great use."

Re: World-Valencia
"Indeed it would be, haha."Cristobal pressed another button on the remote, commanding the metal insect to burrow into its victim. "I've made a few batches of those, as they could enter a victim, but not come out."
Re: World-Valencia
"So it's a one way trip...either way, the concept of these is absolutely terrifying to a normal human mind, making it perfect for such a purpose.
Re: World-Valencia
"I made those so they could be turned off at any time while inside a prisoner's body, making them a ticking time bomb, you could say."The engineer explained, referring to those metal bugs, "any normal human would not be so foolish as to fight when they know such a thing is inside them, would they?"
He lead them to another chamber, this time, it was a prison cell, with a captured pirate inside.
Cristobal took the contraption from his satchel and threw it into the cell, hitting the pirate's back.
As he turned around, the contraption sprung-
Razor wires shot from it, latching the contraption onto its victim's chest, slowly tightening, cutting into his flesh and allowing the contraption to sink into their body.
"The spring razor."Hummed the old Assassin, "able to be programmed to either be like it is now... Or instantly kill via bisection."

Re: World-Valencia
"It's a relatively clean, quick death at that, but it is efficient...I've never had to take that into account until now. After all, if you are an Assassin, speed is key, I suppose."
Re: World-Valencia
"Strike hard and fast, yes, that's basically it."The engineer confirmed, "or endure then hit hard."
Ulysses spoke up, "Though that is only part of it: after we destroy a target, we must leave the scene as fast as one could go... Freerunning is the answer."

Re: World-Valencia
"I think I can get used to that." Sydney half-smiled, crossing her arms over her chest. She knew that her pride was her biggest weakness, and it would not be happy with remaining silent.
Re: World-Valencia
"Grandmaster Ulysses can show you how that is done."Ulysses nodded when the older Assassin finished.
Their next stop was a large training arena, with multiple small hand holds and foot holds mounted on the walls, as well as ropes and chains.
The Admiral grinned, and took off into a run, running right up a wall and jumping acrobatically to grab hold of a rope, using it to swing himself onto another platform.
Ulysses backed up a few steps, then jumped again, scaling the three meter distance between that platform and the next one.

Re: World-Valencia
By now, Sydney could not deny the fact that she was impressed beyond belief at the physical capabilities of the Armada Admiral, for she had never seen another possessing an ability close to this.
And to think that soon, I will be able to do the same.

Re: World-Valencia
"Freerunning is not exactly easy to master."Cristobal watched as Ulysses ran the perimeter of the arena on the walls, before sliding to the ground via one of the chains, "however, if one is exposed to enough bleeding effect, it could... ah how should I explain this... be programmed into an individual."
Re: World-Valencia
"To put it simply, it is when the muscle and genetic memory of someone mixes so well with yours that what ability they have become yours: take for example if you've been exposed to enough of Ulysses' memories inside the Apple, you would slowly begin to take on some of his abilities like fencing or freerunning."
Re: World-Valencia
"So...I will have to be exposed to more of his memories in order to obtain these."
For some reason, she felt uneasy about diving back into the Admiral's memories. Not because she was afraid, but she did not want to accidentally discover something that he wanted to lock away.

Re: World-Valencia
"Basically yes."The engineer confirmed, "though it won't be in the Apple: we will use the Animus to do it, as well as this." He reached into the satchel by his side once more, producing what looked like a black circle with golden lines carved on them, "A memory key-it is imbued with a specific set of memories... And it won't be in third person either... You would become him in these."
Re: World-Valencia
"In first-person then, hmm?" Sydney took the disc-like object, holding it delicately with the tips of her fingers. "And it's all in here...althoughI'm afraid that I do not know how to operate such a device."
Re: World-Valencia
"Yes, and with that, we will need the Animus... Though are you sure you want your trainings to start today?"
Re: World-Valencia
"Grandmaster, I am but a novice to these techniques and skills, and although I wish to be of the greatest aid to the Assassins, I am entirely uncertain of how to proceed."
Re: World-Valencia
"Alright then, follow me."Cristobal lead them back into his workshop, to the very back of it where a large, well polished machine stood.
He inserted the disk into a slot in the side of it, then strided over to the computer attached to it, typing in a series of who knows how complicated things.
The Animus hummed, starting to take on a blue glow.
"It's ready, now just lie down on it."The engineer keyed in a few more things, just to make sure everything would go the way he wanted. "Then close your eyes."

Re: World-Valencia
Nodding once to confirm her understanding, Sydney laid herself out on her back overtop the machine he had motioned to, closing her eyes. Almost immediately, there was a sudden flashing, much like what she had experienced when she had touched the apple...
