Ulysses stepped off the ship with a slight spring in his steps.

Truly, who wouldn't? He had just won the war between Marleybone and Valencia for Kane's sake!

[Valdus Devereaux]

Valdus, who had also participated in the war, stepped off of his own ship full of pride.

Even he knew how important this victory against Marleybone was-- It took much longer than anticipated, but he believed it was well worth it in the end!

[Ulysses Septimus]

The Armada Commodore immediately headed toward the throne room, after he was greeted by the Captain of the Royal Guard squadron - Custos Maximus - as this was only normal for an officer -

"Your Majesty."

Ulysses had dropped to one knee before the Supreme Commander of the Armada.

"I have returned from the war, as how you have ordered, Commander."

((Gods, I'm sorry if this sucks. I've never done an rp for the Armada before. ;;.;; ))

The younger officer started away from the ships, and though his mask hid it well, he was very relieved to be back in Valencia.

[Ulysses Septimus]

((Hey it's okay ^^ practice makes perfect, no?))

Now promoted to the rank of Grand Admiral of the Armada, Ulysses soon found himself walking down the hallways of the fortress that would lead him into the war council chamber: just as the Supreme Commander Kane ordered.

Passing by the officer known as Militus Sentus, the now Admiral offered a polite nod of acknowledgement before continuing on his way.

((True, but I know I'm gonna screw up a lot. DX ))

He nodded in acknowledgement in return, not aware of his promotion, walking onwards to continue what remaining duties he had left for the day.

((It's okay we learn through failure, no?))

Ulysses Septimus stepped out of the war chamber with a slight wobble in his steps: inwardly cursing himself and his own obsession as he made his way to his private quarters, where he could change into his robes of the Assassin in preparation to carry out his god's will -

Now dressed in his full Assassin regalia, the Armada admiral found himself climbing quietly out of one of the windows and onto the rooftops of the fortress.

No one is to know of this, Kane had explicitly told him. Not even one of our own clockwork soldiers.

Valdus returned to his own chambers, as he had some time before he was to do anything again, proceeding to shut and lock his door. He sighed as he removed his mask and hat, smoothing back his short hair with one gloved hand.

"As much as I care for duty, even I need time to organize my thoughts..."

[Ulysses Septimus]

Passing by one of the windows, Ulysses immediately crouched down as he could see the light from within: it didn't matter if this was one of their own officers, the Supreme Commander had said that they are to keep this quiet...

[Valdus Devereaux]

He set his mask and hat aside, then strode over and sat at his bed, both weary from the battle and trip back to Valencia, and also still swelled with pride from the overall victory. In the end, he decided to simply rest, as he shut off the light in his room.

[Ulysses Septimus]

Ulysses had returned to the fortress about two hours later; promptly diving back into his room to change out of his Assassin robes and into his new uniform, before stepping back out once more and headed down toward the war chamber, where the Supreme Commander would be waiting.

No longer taking care to disguise his steps, Ulysses' boots clacked as he made his way down the halls.

Valdus has changed out of his uniform and fell asleep long before Ulysses has returned.

((LOL it's okay XD Imma spice things up soon enough since there isn't much to go off of anyway))

About two weeks later, Ulysses found himself nursing a glass of wine within his own office, thinking back on the battle in Marleybone before a thunderous clap shook the entire fortress -

It would appear that the Templars and pirates have combined forces to launch an attack -!

[Valdus Devereaux]

This also caught the attention of the officer, who was in the middle of looking over a sort of plan.

"Of all the times and places...!" He muttered to himself, quickly doning his mask and hat, seeing as he was already in uniform. Then he grabbed his axe and gun and ran out of his quarters.

[Ulysses Septimus]

Ulysses sprinted down the hallways with his own mask over his face, sword in hand before he was stopped in his path by two pirates and a single Templar knight.

All three which he quickly dispatched in brutal spectacles, for his sole concern was none other than -

The Supreme Commander!

[Valdus Devereaux]

Valdus also came across some pirates on the way, but he quickly defeated each one as well-- Some ended up leaving more blood than others.

[Ulysses Septimus]

While Ulysses may have arrived in the throne room on time, the Admiral proved to have came far too late to save the Supreme Commander...

By the time any of the clockworks had found their way in, Deacon announced with a solemn voice.

"Hail, Supreme Commander Ulysses, Lord of Valencia."

[Ulysses Septimus]

Valdus wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel at this moment....Happiness for Ulysses becoming Supreme Commander? Sadness for Kane's untimely death? Rage at the Templars and pirates that attacked in the first place?

At times like these, he wished he really was a clockwork, like the rest, so he wouldn't be as confused by his current emotions...

[Ulysses Septimus]

He was not the only one wishing so in that very moment, for this was exactly what Ulysses had in mind as well: if it was not for his pesky emotions, maybe he would not have been reduced down to this pitiful state within his own damn mind!

"Sort out the chaos that has been left behind."

He rasped when he finally found his voice again.

"Those fools will pay for what they had done."

[Valdus Devereaux]

Once all the Clockworks were dismissed, he went off to see about the damage caused by the attacks. However, as he left, he gave a momentary glance to the new Supreme Commander, hiding an expression of mixed emotions behind the pale white mask.

'I swear, if it's the last thing either of us do, we'll make sure vengeance is taken for what has happened today. I don't care who gets in the way, I'll make sure it happens. For all of our sakes.'

[Ulysses Septimus]

Indeed, for in that same moment, Ulysses could be heard uttering an oath.

"Skull Island, I will bath your sands in the blood of your children for what has been brought onto the Armada!"

[Valdus Devereaux]

At least one thing was perfectly crystal clear;

There would be a reckoning...

A bloody bloody retribution for sure -

Only about a week later, the Valencian Assassin Order arrived in Cadiz, under the leadership of Ulysses' mentor Cristobal Auditore, answering to Ulysses' call for the blood of the pirates.

And indeed the Assassins came, bearing with them the same time a gift - a mask and a uniform that would allow Ulysses to appear like Kane himself - now at last the Armada is ready for retribution against those fools-!
