Post by Ulysses Septimus Thu Mar 20, 2014 5:48 pm

((It's okay and yeah, they worked Smile ))

At first, it was impossible, almost to tell who it was, until a small red glint flashed in the shadows, like a drop of blood... But it could not be blood, instead, it was a gem... A gem like the one set between the eyes of Servus Decimus.

Ulysses had seen the glint, obviously, because his eyes quickly darted back to Mercilus, his sword and hook lowering. "Fine, what do you want?"His voice, though it was not defeated in tone, was monotonous, as if he had suddenly turned into a clockwork himself.

"What do I want?"The rogue didn't give to a second though to how easy the Admiral had given up, "I want your death-"

He was cut off short his own sharp yell of pain, his dagger clattering to the ground as a bullet pierced his shoulder.

Ulysses took this opportunity to barrow into Mercilus with his shoulder, much like a buccaneer. This forced the rogue to turn his attention away from Sydney once more, he had to, unless he want to get sliced to ribbons by Ulysses' sword.

The guards, on the other hand, also turned away, only to find themselves confronted by the emotionless, elaborate mask of Servus Decimus, the barrel of his new rifle still smoking.

Snatching up her sword once again, Sydney ran at the guard on the left side of the captive clockwork, catapulting her body into him and sending both of them crashing to the ground. There was not a moment's hesitation from the Armada Commodore as she untangled herself from the mess of flying limbs, stood, and stomped a heeled boot down on the fallen man's skull, again and again.

Decimus didn't hesitate either: he slammed the butt of his rifle into the spot between the other guard's eyes, then brutally drove the bayonet mounted on the gun's barrel into the man's chest, twisting cruelly before drawing it from the human's body, letting it slide with a dull thud to the floor.

Ulysses, on the other hand, had Mercilus pinned to the ground, his hand wrapped around the man's collar as his other delivered punches into every inch he could reach.

He didn't stop before he had knocked him out.

Standing up from Mercilus' limp form, he drew a length of metal chain from the depth of his coat and wrapped it tightly around his arms.

"Take this bastardo to the dungeons."He growled at Sentus Optimus, who had just entered. Ulysses then turned to the captive clockwork, effortlessly picking him up by sliding one arm under his knees and the other at the base of his back.

"We shall."Ulysses finally smiled, dark and blood thirsty, "back to the dungeons, hehe."

"I failed you, Lord."The damaged clockwork finally spoke, his usually monotone of a voice was wrapped in slight static, "he took it from my mind... Using my memories-"

"Enough, Albinus."Ulysses' voice changed, no longer angry, "Mercilus is a tough opponent, this is not a failure of yours."

As they made their way back to the Interceptor, Ulysses placed the damaged clockwork inside his cabin, before making his way down to the dungeons, where Sentus Optimus had thrown the rogue Assassin.

Mercilus had been taken to the same chamber in which Adrian Silver had been tormented to death, and as Sydney walked in, she found that the remains of said pirate had left a rather noticeable bloodstain on the floor and walls. She smiled almost nostalgically, remembering the horrific manner in which he had died.

This one will not be any different, she promised herself, kicking the traitor over onto his back.

The rogue grunted, his eyes slowly opening, first in confusion, then turning to anger when he realized he had been restrained. He glared at Sydney defiantly, though saying nothing.

Ulysses entered a moment later, looking rather murderous and with Sentus Optimus trailing behind him...

"Ah, Admiral, you're here!" Sydney wrenched Mercilus up by the chain around his wrists, dragging him over to the wall before shackling his wrists and ankles, ensuring that he would not be able to worm away anytime soon.

"Now...what to do? I think he should get somewhat of a special death, you know. Unlike anything I've ever thought of before."

"I actually made something special just for him,"Ulysses grinned, glancing at the chained rogue like a snake would with its next meal, "it's called the intestine crank, very slow and painful death... Hehe..."

Indeed, the rack, or the Intestine Crank as Ulysses preferred to call it, would cause a very slow and painful death: the victim is strapped down to a table, with a small incision made in their side so a length of their small intestines may be pulled out and tied to a crank.

The crank is then turned so it slowly pulls the organ from the victim's body, causing a very painful excrutiating death.

Sydney selected a small scalpel from the still-bloodstained wooden table, lightly running her fingertip along the sharp, vicious blade.

"Yes, I certainly agree, Admiral."

Stepping over so that she was now standing in front of the traitor, the Commodore tore away the fabric on his torso before lowering the blade to his abdomen, making a slow, agonizingly thin cut no wider than her closed fist.

Ulysses gave a order to Sentus Optimus in Latin when he saw that had been done.

The Marine captain saluted his leader and marched away to another chamber, returning with Servus Carbo carrying the crank, setting it down in the middle of the chamber.

Together, the marines worked to strap the rogue Assassin down, then stepped back.

"Perhaps... You would like to do the honors, Commodore?"Ulysses asked, making a sweeping gesture with his right hand.

"But of course, Admiral! I'd be thrilled..."

Yanking off her white gloves to expose her rather pointed fingernails, Sydney tore at the wound like a tiger going for a kill until it had opened enough for her to fit three fingers through, much to the horror of the rouge assassin.

And just like that, she began to pull his intestines from his body, one strand, like a long, grotesque snake, and he could not even bring himself to scream, it seemed, the sight was so surreal.

She attached the end of the bloody, gruesome strand to the crank, stepping back in triumph.

"Well...can you guess what happens next...?"

"Excellent!"

A dark and devilish smile contorted Ulysses' face as he stepped close to Mercilus, his long fingers pinching his chin to bring his face close to the grinning, metal mask that was covering his own. "It seems,"the admiral begun with a low tone that almost trembled with excitement, "the tables have turned, Atticus Mercilus... Do you know your fate?"

"Damn you, Ulysses Septimus."Mercilus spat back, "may you rot in hell with your wretched master."

Ulysses sneered behind his mask, "Defiant, aren't you? Like your little friend Adrian Devereaux... Defiant till the end... Well we'll see how you deal with this."

He reached over, and turned the crank barely 60 degrees. As it turned, it made a sickening sound that no human words could have described.

Mercilus managed to bite back his screams - just barely - but Sydney knew. This was a sign, a sign that although he may try, he would not end up the victor of his own mental battle.

She had to lace her fingers in between each other behind her back to contain herself, as every nerve in her body was screaming at her to run over and turn the crank with all of the speed and force that she could muster, but the Armada Commodore knew better.

Not this one. He has not died his million deaths quite yet...

Ulysses' face was now barely an inch away from the rogue's, "Do you know what you've done to deserve this? DO YOU?" He resisted the urge to turn the crank more, because he didn't want to break this one...

Not yet.

He would have him know pain and fear first, like how he had done to Albus...

At that thought, the admiral felt his still very human heart ache in sympathy, though he did not allow it to show... No, he was not a hypocrite who said he cared when he didn't, in truth, he cared too much...

"Septimus..."Mercilus gasped, "do you know who killed her? Do you know who sent the assassins?"

Almost immediately, anger radiated from the admiral as his hand darted out to clamp around the rogue's throat. "IT WAS YOU?" His roar was loud enough to echo through the cell, "IT WAS YOU WHO SENT THE ASSASSINS AND KILLED HER!? DAMN YOU!"

He couldn't control himself from yelling, could not stop the strings of the foulest Latin curses from escaping his lips...

((I actually am going to sleep now ^^))

At first, the Commodore was watching the exchange unfold like a dramatic scene in a theater, but the Admiral's sudden burst of emotion - something he rarely showed - frightened her, almost, although she would never admit it, and it led her to wonder exactly what crime it was that Mercilus had committed in the past to draw such a response from him.

((Oh okay Smile good night then))

His hand loosened from the rogue's throat--the one small bit of him that was still calm demanded so he wouldn't kill him--the admiral remained glaring at his prisoner.

"You killed her... YOU KILLED HER!"Ulysses' chest was heaving up and down in sheer anger, "SO IT WAS YOU ALL ALONG?! DAMN YOU! MATRIS FUTUOR!"

While that happened, Decimus watched without a word from his post at the door of the cell: he had not functioned long enough to know the exact feelings currently felt by Ulysses, but he was sure he knew just what the admiral was talking about.

He knew because of the memories Ulysses had bestowed upon him, when he was first created...

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!"He was still screaming in rage, "YOU TOOK HER FROM ME! TOOK THE ONLY ONE I LOVED FROM ME! TOOK MY CHILD!"

Ulysses finally stopped, his voice hoarse from screaming...

Post by Ulysses Septimus Sat Mar 22, 2014 5:25 pm

Ulysses slowly backed away, seating himself down in the wooden chair that was next to the table, his  still masked face buried in his hand as he tried to recollect his mind, tried to calm down.

That memory, that memory was still vivid in his mind like it was yesterday: he felt as though he could still feel her blood on his hands... Now the floodgates had been opened, it was almost impossible to close, and it brought back all the hate, and pent up anger he had kept in check for so long, the wrath and sadness slowly permeating his being...

"I need a few minutes."With those words, he rushed back up the stairs, to the upper decks.

Ulysses strided over to the prow, slumping down hugging his knees.

He closed his eyes, attempting to shut out the image replaying in his mind.

No use.

A shudder raked his frame; his hand reached up, plucking the mask from his face, letting it clatter onto the metal planks that made up the deck of the Interceptor. Cool air kissed his skin.

Once that was gone, the admiral started to sob, tears flowing quietly from his crimson eyes... He had cared too much, and now he's paying for it.

Damn it, curse his naive young self, curse his power to feel emotions!

Sydney stood frozen, as her feet had planted themselves to the ground in her shock and refused to let her move.

She had never before seen the Admiral like this. He was usually a master, a master of his own emotions, his own feelings, much more so than she was, but based on what she had seen, just the memory of their last encounter had shaken him thoroughly

So it had to have been something terrible...

And now she turned on Mercilus, her blood hot with rage.

"You're going to wait. You're going to wait as I personally deliver your deserved million deaths, each more excruciating than the last. You'll go mad before this is over, you damned, spineless traitor."

Look at you. His mind chuckled, how pathetic: the great and mighty Ulysses... The Grand Master of the Assassin Order crying like a weak, pathetic human: you are the Lord of Admiralty for the Armada! Collect yourself, Septimus!

Ulysses stood, drawing a shaky breath as he set the mask back onto his face.

"I can't be like this."He growled darkly to himself, "I can't be the weak and emotional Ulysses that I've been in the past... Damn it, I am an Admiral for Lord Kane's sake! Admiral of His Majesty's Army!"

That's it, he will not let that son of a batacuda get under his skin again... No, he won't let that memory control him again. He would only use it for empowerment, and never again...

Lies. His mind accused, you know it's still there, and it still hurts every inch of your being, Ulysses Septimus.

Ulysses had enough: telling the voice in his head to shut up, he reorganized himself, dusted off his coat and got ready to return to the dungeons. He would make that traitor rue ever bringing it up, and even more for causing it to happen.

Ulysses appeared moments later, his mask securing from sight his face though his murderous red eyes betraying the anger and hate he currently felt.

"You will regret bringing that up, Atticus Mercilus."He snarled, one hand in a fist and obviously holding something in it, "you will wish you had never done it... Now you will pay, and suffer for it!"

He threw out his clenched hand, revealing white crystals--salt.

The rogue Assassin was barely able to hold back his screams this time, as it landed on his wounds, burning better than any acid Bishop could have possibly came up with.

"This is only the start."
