Re: World-Valencia
Sydney gently placed one hand on the handle of the crank, tapping in lightly, but not turning it quite yet.
"Every bit of pain inflicted is well-deserved. You've committed unforgivable atrocities...and you'll see that interfering with the Armada was your biggest mistake."
Her voice sounded distant to her, and she knew that she was going into that familiar, trance-like state in which she could feel nothing but excitement, all fueled off of the pain of the rogue assassin.

Re: World-Valencia
"Atticus Mercilus, you are convicted of multiple charges of piracy, of assaulting Armada officers, as well as treason against the Valencian Assassin Order and murder."Ulysses hissed, now with a dagger in his hand that he had drawn from his belt, expertly tracing the contours of the rogue's neck and chest, as though trying to decide where to start. "you will be terminated, compliance is not an option."
The moment his sentence was finished, the tip of his blade sunk ever so much into the flesh above Mercilus' sternum, like how someone would when they cut a piece of steak.
Slowly, cruelly, he moved the dagger until it was parallel to his enemy's flesh, then pushing forward until he had carved what seemed like a pocket in the rogue's chest.
Another carefully administered cut, Ulysses had severed the flesh, holding the bloodstained tissue between the thumb and index finger of his left hand, the mechanical limb the rogue had forced him into wearing by cutting off his original one.

Re: World-Valencia
Now this one is interesting, Sydney thought, keeping her eyes intently trained on Mercilus' expression. His guts are practically hanging out - and they're soon to be pulled out - yet he hasn't gone delirious yet.
But that's all going to change.
She turned the crank a single full rotation, watching as his face contorted with a mixture of terror and pain, his screams stifled and dying in his throat.

Re: World-Valencia
"I can smell your pain."Ulysses threw another handful of salt into the wound he had opened on his foe, "it's strong, and you fear death... Don't try to hide it..."
He suddenly focused on Sydney, growling softly, "Can you smell his pain and fear, commodore?"
The rogue gasped out, choking slightly on his words, "Good try, Septimus, good try, but I am not afraid nor am I about to break!" Obviously, he was lying; the tremors that ran through his frame and the noticable raise in heart rate betrayed it all.
((Sorry for taking so long, I had some guests and they stayed longer than expected ^^; ))

Re: World-Valencia
"Indeed, I can...and it's growing stronger by the second."
The crank made a metallic screeching sound as Sydney slowly turned it once again, having already been rusty from the dried blood that was splattered all over it.
"It's so painfully obvious, don't you think?"

Re: World-Valencia
Mercilus barely managed to bite back his groan of pain this time. "Never... I will never break, no matter how hard you try... No chain nor whatever instrument your sick and demented mind can make me bow to you or your friend!"
Ulysses snorted, disbelief clear in his voice, "Heh, like I would believe that... You sound awfully like that fool Adrian, Mercilus, but do you know what it means? You will die just like he died..."
His face was once more no less than an inch away from his foe's, "None who oppose the Armada will live, no one who takes from me will live knowing that... I will break you, she will break you, like you've done to Albus and Albinus..."

Re: World-Valencia
"That's right, I'm going to break you...and you'll never guess how!"
Reaching into her left coat pocket, Sydney pulled out a folded sheet of parchment and tore it into many, many small pieces, setting them on the table in a pile before picking up the same scalpel-like knife that she had used earlier. The Armada Commodore then proceeded to cut away the remainders of clothing from Mercilus' torso before making several small incisions all over his flesh, inserting the scraps of parchment into the cuts.
"Bet you didn't expect this."
She then picked up a match from the table, struck it, and proceeded to light all of the parchment scraps on fire.

Re: World-Valencia
Screams tore themselves finally out of the rogue's throat, his body convulsing as he tried in vain to free himself from the pain that was wrecking his mind and frame.
Ulysses took one step back to admire the sight, a pleasured shiver running down his back while his eyes took in every detail. He didn't say it, but it was maddening for him, the sight of blood drove pangs of euphoria through both his mind and body.
He licked his lips behind the mask, his breathing taking on the shape of shallow, quick gasps.
"Feel the pain."Ulysses hissed, "you earned it, Mercilus... You earned all of it."

Re: World-Valencia
Sydney threw back her head and laughed, dizzy with triumph.
"Yes, enjoy it while you can..." She then gripped the handle of the crank once more and turned it several times, slow at first, but speeding up gradually as the world seemed to spin around her in excitement.
This here...this is what I LIVE for.

Re: World-Valencia
Mercilus was still screaming, the air filled with the smell of his burnt flesh. Though his eyes made it clear, that he would NEVER give in, no matter how much pain they throw at him.
But unbeknownst to him, that also made Ulysses glad, because then he'd get to have some fun with this one who had caused him so much misery. He actually hoped he would last a little longer, even, so they could have the all the fun they want.
Ulysses' head rolled back, his red eyes almost completely into the back of his skull: he, one could almost say, feeds off of pain. Pain that made his enemies scream and beg for mercy, this was what drives him.
The Assassin, once he recovered enough, clicked his fingers, using a minor healing spell on his prisoner. Not enough to be of any real help, only to keep him alive.

Re: World-Valencia
"Now...I wonder what to do next...? I'm so glad I thought of the fire, see, that's never been done before!" Sydney's eyes scanned the table, over the numerous blades, weapons, and other strange items in an attempt to conjure up the most bizzare and grotesque experience that one could possibly experience.
Re: World-Valencia
Ulysses reached into the pile, pulling out what appeared to be a double ended fork attached to a collar. "The heretic's fork,"he hummed darkly, smiling as he spoke, "used to punish traitors, ones who doesn't know how to control their mouths.... Hahaha."
Re: World-Valencia
"Why, how suiting." Sydney smirked, eyeing Mercilus' pained expression. "He'll be forced to wait silently until we decide his fate...completely powerless."
Re: World-Valencia
"Hahaha indeed!"Ulysses laughed, strapping the torturous instrument onto his prisoner's throat, "if he tries to badmouth any further... Well, then it would push the flesh against those-"He pressed his finger onto one of the prongs, drawing a small streak of blood, "which could amount to a rather, ah, unpleasant end."
Re: World-Valencia
"Shall we leave him for a while, Admiral? I wonder if he can go this long without running that useless mouth, the only thing he had left." Sydney drilled into Mercilus' eyes with her own, mentally drinking in the fear, the power, the results of her hard work.
Re: World-Valencia
"We shall, "Ulysses smiled once more behind his mask, "let us return to the upper decks: it's getting a little stuffy down here, don't you think, Commodore?"
Re: World-Valencia
"But of course," Sydney nodded once, grinning triumphantly at Mercilus before following the Admiral out the door of the lower dungeon.
Re: World-Valencia
Ulysses closed the doors behind them once they are out of the dungeon. "At last, I have exacted my revenge."He hummed, thinking it was only to himself and never realizing she had heard him.
Re: World-Valencia
"He's finally gotten what he has earned for interfering with the Armada." Her grey eyes hardened in determination and she glanced down at her bloodstained hands in slight dissatisfaction.
"Admiral...don't we still have that Privateer, Edward Teach, in captivity?"
"Admiral...don't we still have that Privateer, Edward Teach, in captivity?"
Re: World-Valencia
"Ah you just reminded me that,"Ulysses slapped his forehead, mentally sighing at his own forgetfulness, "hmm, I say we go see what we can get out of him... Should he prove to be useless, well... Then I'd be glad to hand him over to you again."
Re: World-Valencia
Sydney felt another bout of laughter rise in her throat, but quickly suppressed it in an attempt to remain composed.
So it's a win-win situation for me either way, hmm?
"Yes, I do think that's the best idea...he did seem awfully intelligent. I wonder if we can put that to use..."

Re: World-Valencia
"I agree,"Ulysses leaned against the railing, "shall we go down there now, or should we enjoy some fresh air up here a little longer, hmm?"
Re: World-Valencia
"We can stay up here if you'd like," Sydney replied, staring off into the distance with somewhat of a dazed look, "I'm in no hurry. After all, he's ours, and we have all the time in the Spiral."
Re: World-Valencia
"Indeed."The Admiral gazed off into the distance as well, "after all, Lord Kane did give me free rein in this matter..." At the mention of the clockwork king's name, his tone had taken on somewhat of a fanatic's: dreamy, maniacal, willing to do anything to see that his will is done.
Re: World-Valencia
"The clockwork that Mercilus had taken...Albinus, I think...do you know what will happen to him?"
And she remembered seeing the clockwork musketeer, that delicate, perfect soldier, cracked and broken, defenseless and at the complete mercy of another, which was the worst position one could find themselves in.
Strangely, that had been beautiful within itself.
